Ask VA: Your New Portal to VA-Related Concerns

Whether you’re a veteran who uses the Department of Veteran Affairs’ Information Routing & Inquiry Service (IRIS) to access VA information or a veteran spouse who uses the GI Bill Help Portal to inquire about your VA benefits for your senior care needs, you will be able to access a new online system to submit questions, concerns, and recommendations to VA.

Ask VA, or AVA, is a new online portal for processing all inquiries about VA benefits and services, introduced on October 18 to replace IRIS and GI Bill Help Portal.

With this new service, users should be able to get their questions answered more quickly because the AVA platform will send them to the relevant benefit office.

Moreover, users are required to sign in with one of the following accounts that have their identity validated in order to answer some questions about GI Bill benefits. Verified ID.me, Premium My HealtheVet, or Premium DS Logon accounts are all acceptable forms of identification.

The new system can also keep records of all user conversations with VA officials and can receive inquiries about any VA benefit. Meanwhile, those who choose to contact the VA office by phone can still do so.
